With regards to the load cover, I run with mine in situ and extended and so far have had no issues with rattles but I know that some certainly have. With regards to interior build quality particularly the quality of the leather on the seats, I have to agree with you entirely. My 2005 facelift XC70 was way better in every respect. Even with 182k miles on it the seats ( including drivers ) showed no discernible wear , even on the drivers bolster. It just felt a better screwed together car although the XC90 suits my needs more. XC70 drivers seat.

I genuinely wish, given what I eventually received for it in trade in, that I'd scrapped it for parts and up-cycled the front seats as a pair of arm/desk chairs.

Trick to long life is keeping it out of the sun, and treating the leather at least 1x a year, and best 3x a year

That said, my XC90 seats are still in very good condition ( Black ) and I regularly treat them to Gliptone which is a brilliant treatment as well as smelling of leather.

Finally picked up my XC90 on Friday evening, great drive so far to work and back and managed to squeeze in a trip to IKEA in the pouring rain effortlessly. I'll get some pics up today.
Thanks again to everyone for the advice. |

Haha I didn't even realise the little one has been after a new desk for a while and it's his birthday tomorrow so I thought what a better way to utilise the space available
