Bluetooth stops working
Suddenly I'm having trouble with Bluetooth in my 2011 XC60. It's worked without problems for the last four years, but now any attempted connection to my android phone always ends up with the "Unfortunately Bluetooth Share has stopped" error on the phone. I also find that I can not remove the phone profile from the car. I get as far as "Are you sure you want to remove 'phone name'?'", I press enter and after a long wait, nothing has happened.
Has anyone else had similar experience, does anyone know a fix? Many thanks, Aidan |

The first thing Volvo will do is to update the cars bluetooth/sensus system , and go from there .

Thanks Clan.
I've checked my phone's Bluetooth with other devices, all of which function flawlessly. I have in fact just had my car serviced. The Bluetooth stopped working before the service, and I did hope that post- service it would be all right, but that isn't the case. The car is currently running Bluetooth 04.23_R, if that tells anyone anything. |

Have a look through some of these posts-
http://forum.xda-developers.com/site...vo%20bluetooth As Clan has said it is most probably an update to the Bluetooth stack on your phone that has caused the problem. I found the same when I updated a friends Blackberry, the phone no longer connected to her Range Rover and I had to roll back the update. My father's 6 month old Peugeot is very picky which phones it will connect to. His very basic Samsung is fine, my Samsung S2 with Android 4.4 is not. The number of versions of Bluetooth is bewildering, not to mention the profiles and it does not take much to render a once perfect connection useless. http://wistao.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09...different.html Their may be a Volvo update to the car's Bluetooth that would then match your phone. |

Thanks for your thoughts, JRL.
I'm convinced it's a problem with the car, not the phone, because of the fact that I can't remove the current profile from car, as should be simple to do. This clearly indicates an issue. The business with the phone is a little complicated because I recently started using custom ROMs (on my Samsung Galaxy Mega). However, the Bluetooth stopping working did NOT coincide with a change or update to the phone. I'll look at the posts you've kindly cited, and if I can't get anywhere I guess my next step is to have my garage check/update the software in the car. |
