How do I turn off the rear seat belt notifiaction

I don't think you can disable it but you can stop the beeping by pressing READ/OK on the left hand stalk.

You don't get an audible warning for rear seatbelts unless one, or more, have been engaged then disengaged. You get an info on the display to say none, or how many rear belts in use, but that can be ignored.

..........or you get the audible alarm if a rear seat passenger has placed a bag on the "empty" seat which the seat sensors assume is an unbelted passenger!

I think this topic has been discussed elsewhere in the past on this forum, and general consensus is there are no pressure sensors on the rear seats.
The audible alarm only goes off if a belt has been clipped in then clipped out.
The display will show "no rear belts in use" if a back door is simply opened to put a bag in.
The system does not know if a person is present until one of more belts is fastened. Even then it doesn't know a "person" is present, only that a belt has been fastened.

My experience is that they rear passenger tends to put the belt into the centre seat point and then realises that they have done this and remove and replace into the correct seat point - result an alarm going off until you put the centre belt buckle into the seat point - took me a few annoying trips before I worked this one out

As I said earlier by leaving the belts buckled up all the time when a rear passenger gets in they unbuckle the correct belt and this only leaves on hole for them to put the belt back into - therefore no chance of an alarm

Worked for me for 4 years now.

As I said in my previous post, when this happens just press the READ/OK button on the left hand stalk and the beeping will stop. There's no need to buckle up. It works only for the rear seats though. For the front seats you need to buckle up to stop the beeping.

Concidently, I've mostly had the problem when "large" people were rear seat passengers. I always put it down to "overspill" into assumed weight detectors. However, larger people will often put the belt in the centre seat point by accident, as its a more comfortable one to find on that side of the car. This is consistent with your explanation.

I used to always have to go with an embarrassed "the seats are far too sensitive", answer.
