Default Volvo C70 - Losing Power/ Rough Engine after long journey

Hello, this has happened a few times now, lastly yesterday evening.

2.5 Petrol C70, 2006

Long stretches of motorway and dual carriageways, e.g 100 miles - all good running perfectly.

Come of motorway and hit a set of traffic lights, the rumbles start, loss of power or intermitent power. If I coast / ease off it sometimes picks up again.

I hit a second set of lights and was stationery for a few minutes, absolute hell, little or no consistent power, rumble rumble, shake shake.

It is due a service ! Not convinced it will remedy the issue

Have you read the thread started by yomchi86? Does this sound like the same issue you're having?

possibly the fuel pressure sensor, these can be troublesome.

you don't change it unless you can prove it is faulty, It could get very expensive doing it that way..

Have you checked for any codes using Volvo compatible gear? Volvo petrol and diesel engines usually have several different "limp modes" not all of which generate a message or EML. For example on petrol turbo engines if one of the knock sensors fail or is disconnected, you have about 50% power but no lights or messages.

Default Diag ftw

Yeah I'd 100% get it hooked up to a 'decent' diag kit if you've got one, Vida if at all possible, otherwise it is very much guesswork in all honesty.

Had I not had Vida (or my YouCanic diagnostic tools), I most definitely wouldn't have started by replacing the VVT Solenoids on mine. After working through each of the codes and replacing the most likely sensor, car is running like a dream (more so now it's 279bhp - Thanks Celtic Tuning).

If you've ever around the Leeds area, give me a shout. Would happily scan it for you.
