S60D5-185 Me ? Surely Not! Last Online: Apr 25th, 2024 19:48 Join Date: Jul 2010 Location: 2007 Volvo XC90 D5 Geartronic. South of Hadrians Wall.	My simple take on it is this. If i did a small annual mileage and most of that was around the doors i would definitely buy a petrol over a diesel every time and it would be a T5. My reasoning is that Petrol engines are far more suited to this type of use than a D5 and under no circumstances would i touch a D5 with a DPF ( like mine ) as you will very likely encounter the "Soot Filter Full" message. That said my D5 185 6 speed manual offers a superb blend of performance and economy as well as big Torque figures and for me is more suitable than a petrol model. I have never had any DPF issues whatsoever in the 50 k miles i have driven it. 56 mpg ( brim to brim not computer ) on the run down to the South of France each year is to my mind superb.
