Luke - if you're after a replacement engine top mount, and it's the same fitment as on my old-shape V70, you can have the one I've just taken off my car. 8k miles and perfect working order, I just changed it for a poly mount. Might save you a few bob.

However, they are only £7 from Volvo, so not one of the big money parts and like you I think I'm going to use a poly bush instead. |

>-Power steering rack leaking >-Rear main seal leak (possibly due to non fitment of breather >modification) >-ABS Unit failure (fault codes 424, 141 & 142) unit is >leaking brake fluid. > > I think I would go for a reconditioned rack from somewhere like Eurocarparts as it looks like quite a big job to change and I wouldnt want to be doing it twice. Unless you are 100% certain the leak is from the rear main seal I'd change the 2 gaskets on the turbo return pipe as they are less than a fiver and it is an easy job to do yourself if you have a jack and axle stands. The turbo return pipe commonly leaks but then I suppose so does the rear seal but that costs hundreds to replace. My car was diagnosed as having a leaking sump gasket when it wasnt. Get an ABS unit from a breakers. Just make sure they send the correct one for TRACS and that it is returnable if faulty. Simon |

RE: Help! My T-5R is falling apart!!
I have been offered a reconditioned rack for £145 with a 12 month warranty, I will be picking it up next week. I have also booked the car into Charlwood Volvo, they seem a lot more enthusiastic than Amber Garage in Brighton and will give me a second opinion on all the problems before we decide to go ahead with any work.
The turbo dump pipe seal and gasket are apparently leaking as well, dunno about the return pipe, either way I'll get it all sorted when I do all the work, I may well fit a recon'd turbo anyway as the car has now covered 150k. I've been offered ABS units from a number of breakers, but I want to get them off the donor car and onto mine as quickly as possible as I don't want it sitting around full of brake fluid for any length of time. All the salvage dealers have offered me a 90 day warranty on these items. Still, I'll wait for my 2nd opinion before I go ahead with any work. |
