V40 r design t2 2019
Hi all,
I've just bought a new T2 R Design in January and there are 2 issues, first of which is the clutch. The spring on it is so fierce that it's very hard to get a smooth start especially when in heavy traffic. The dealer workshop said 'oh they are all like that' when clearly they are not. My daughter bought a new T2 2 weeks before me and hers is smooth and easy to use. The workshop took what he called a 'helper spring' off to see if it would make it easier. This imaginary spring made no difference at all. This is a 2 month old car with 500 miles on it . Is there anything I can do? Or am I going to have to get rid of it? Certainly cannot live with it. Other problem is the cruise control. It works fine except for the + or - nudge buttons, if I'm doing say 57 and I want to nudge it up to 60, on my old s60 I would press + and it went up 1 mph at a time, the v40 shoots up 5 mph with one nudge, is that right? Any thoughts very welcome. Thanks, Tom.

Can't help with clutch but for the cruise control a short press moves it up or down to the nearest multiple of 5. e.g. 57 and a short press on + will move it to 60, and another short press to 65
If you want to move in increments of +/- 1 you need to to do a long press. It might be counter-intuitive but it makes it easier to adjust the speed quickly to roughly what you want where it can be fine-tuned. Last edited by jamei305; Mar 16th, 2019 at 07:54. |

Hi, thanks for that, at least that's one thing solved.

The clutch return/assist spring is a real part. If you look up the arm while someone presses the clutch, you see it. I’d try swapping the spring over for your daughters car and see if it makes a difference.
