Default contacting volvo

dear all, with all the posts regarding the v50 key error issues as well as other faults, I think that we should all get together and start to get some help from volvo with respect to compensation for the key error which isn't as far as i know on recall.

there seems to be too many of us that have encountered this issue and forked out for expensive repair bills, i for one am going through this right now with my 54 plate v50. as a new volvo buyer/owner i am very surprised at the lack of reliability of this key error/ignition switch fault and the apparent lack of help from volvo. am i wrong? has anybody had any from volvo with help with this error.

i am taking the one idea of printing off the posts from members and going along when i pay for the repair of the car to see if they will do anything. probably not but if enough of us complian they might do something about it.

maybe we should go straight to volvo hq?

any ideas or opinions would be gratefully recieved.

Riche,

Got to agree. My key has played up, but sorted itself out again. Tomorrow my 54 plate V50 2.0D will be trailered to my local garage to see what has gone wrong this time, if they say it has anything to do with the key or the key hole/switch thingy i will be mentioning all the posts that have been posted on here and asking what they plan on doing about an obvious failure in thier build quality.

It seems to me the car was built to last only three years..........

I'm all for this. My car was just over 3 yrs old but less than 24k miles when I had it trailered twice to the dealer, for what seems a common problem.

Do we need some kind of list of names to send into Volvo to get working for some reimbursement.
