Default S40 Detatchable towbar

Having just bought a dinghy I need to get a towbar fitted to the S40. I want to get a removeable bar since I can't abide having a permanent one fitted. Does anyone have any recommendations for make or fitter?

So far I have discounted a Volvo one (local stealer wanted £730 to fit one) and Indespension have quoted £311 to fit a single electrics detatchable bar.

Any experience gratefully received.

Ta.

I believe TowSure (http://www.towsure.com/product/8652-...4-_Not_Classic) have one for the 2004+ S40 for £120. There is a detachable ball for an extra £99 (http://www.towsure.com/product/12851...owball_Upgrade). You'd need a standard wiring kit and someone to fit it too so could end up costing a little more.

Hi, I enquired to a company called PF Jones in Manchester, they have Westafalia deatachable towbars for around £160. I am lead to believe these are OE for Volvo (so the guy there said)

volvo have always used BRINK towbars £730 is rather steep ! Volvo have recently rationalised their towbar pricing get a few more quotes from other dealers ...
You will need the trailer module to connect the wiring ...

I fitted a Brink detachable to my S60 and Brink make the original equipment bars for Volvo. I bought mine from Towequipe.

This is info from Brinks website and you buy direct from them.

Default detachable towbar

Me again, I phoned PF Jones again and asked for a supply and fit price for the Westafalia detachable towbar and electrics, they qouted me £312 fully fitted, including 13pin electrics, relays, adapter for standard plugs on the caravans etc. I thought this was really good price, what does any one else think?

I think that sounds a good deal fully fitted.
Best of luck
