yep, it was the intercooler then not running as well as it should. New one fitted and it is definetly picking up much more quickly and it feels much smoother.
btw, this thread & my posts are to create a single thread for the next buyer of my car in a few years time :-) It's not a 'look at how much I am spending' thread.......but I can see how it might look to posters reading it for the first time perhaps. :-) Last edited by wisc; Nov 19th, 2015 at 19:23. |

Nearside bi-xenon needed replacing whilst in for an MOT. It always had a yellow tinge to it and I assumed it was on its way out. Volmech decided to put a 'Phillips' bulb in rather than a Volvo one and I was told when I picked the car up (don't ask!!). I was told that it already had a Phillips bulb in the one that failed. The new Phillips bulb was dimmer than the drivers side and also had a yellow tinge to it. He said the old bulb was a Phillips and not a proper Volvo one. My drivers side bulb looks white in comparison & is brighter.
So I said order a Volvo one in which arrived today and was fitted, see the pics (excuse one slightly out of focus). So Osram make the Volvo xenons then? as I am sure a lot of you already know on here. I remember reading the Osram Nightbreaker threads/posts a while ago, but I hadn't realised that Osram made Volvo bulbs. So, when I come to replce my drivers side bulb, I suppose I may as well just buy an Osram bulb from the web? rather than pay the £130 for a Volvo one? edit - even though I rotated that last pic, when uploaded it is still in its original position....annoying! Windows 10 feature? Last edited by wisc; Nov 20th, 2015 at 17:52. |

Just ordered 2 rear struts (C1502) for my 4c suspension. There is an offer on with http://shocksandmore.co.uk/ atm, got them for £255 inc vat & delivery.
The only problem is that they are back order and don't expect a shipment until end of Jan 2016!......(apparantely Volvo are buying all the 4c shockers from Monroe.....hmm.....I can't see very many owners buying them through Volvo @ £530ish each can you?). I knew this before placing the order though, Mike was very honest when I spoke to him a few weeks ago, telling me upfront about the back order time. That's why I used them again (they supplied my front C2502's & they were identical to the original Volvo ones. Didn't even need calibrating etc, they just bolted straight on. I haven't had any issues/lights etc at all). |

a delay on the rear 4c struts from shocksandmore, but they did offer me a refund if I didn't wish to wait another 2 months....however I decided to keep the order going and wait until march for delivery.
Then it's all the rear suspension getting replaced. update on the clutch after the remap.....absolutely no slippage or problems at all on the standard clutch after my MTE remap to 225bhp & 480NM. |

Well I have decided to cancel the order now as Mike from shocksandmore said Monroe still can't confirm a delivery date (I originally placed the order in Oct 2015). Mike has been very honest from the start, so please don't take this as a negative post wrt shocksandmore. They supplied the front 4c shockers and they are the original Monroe OEM ones that Volvo use, exactly the same part number and they have been great since I had them fitted with new Volvo springs.
Good job I don't actually need them replacing yet though, but thought I would order them for the future. |

My fronts are OEM and were only £300 inc vat & delivery. Exactly the same part numbers as the old ones that came off. The new shockers and springs changed the handling and ride. 4c is a very good option as long as it's working and you don't buy through the Volvo main dealers. The rears are under £300, but the backlog wait was too long so I cancelled. I don't actually need the rears doing, but thought I would buy them now for the future. I have been told that rear shockers rarely go on S60's, not sure how true this is? One Volvo specialist told me they are good for 180,000 miles, but I doubt they would be in good condition by that mileage? My S60 is on 120,000 and the rear shockers and springs are absolutely fine. No leaking or misting (checked myself) and the springs look fine. I suppose the front takes a lot more hammering than the rear. |

My rear shocks were dry as a bone and knackered.
It's maybe a 30 minute job to replace them and less time to take one off and check properly.

at last.....
'Engine service required' and 'soot filter full' so EGR & DPF related..... also managed to pop the hard plastic pipe to turbo, so no boost, all in the same day..... after 2 visits to the garage, I used Falcon Performance this time (much better garage), all sorted. He said the dpf was the worst they had seen and soaked it over night. EGR/pipe was very blocked also.....2 new injector pipes and 5 new injector seals etc....... also got the swirl problem properly fixed, hence needing 2 new injector pipes, swirl flap linkage assembly, throttle motor etc. also had a new top engine mount fitted. running so much better now, even more so than when I had it remapped by MTE. mpg has gone up slightly around town.
