Thanks all. I'm very crap at negotiating.. and trouble is, I like this car.
It's from Marshalls Volvo in Nottingham. I like their 12 month warranty hence I'm willing to pay a tad more for the same car... But yeah, I'm afraid I showed my eagerness too early and it didn't help with the negotiating. |

Should a high quality Selekt car come with a tear, I'd get back onto them and demand it is sorted.

Regarding the tear, that’s a pain! That said you Will have to ask them for something and if not then get it repaired, I doubt it will be as much as you may think, it’s more the inconvenience. I see the MOT is nearer to 10 months than 9, that would not concern me. I think you need to be happy (assuming you want that spec) and accept you may need to pay to get the seat repaired. |

I think I have seen someone in the v60 forum state they upgraded to a leather rear bench from cloth, and had to get the rear arm rest separately, so that could be a route to look at. May not be as expensive as you think.
Sounds like you did the same as I did and made it too obvious you liked and wanted the car, putting you in a weak negotiating position. However that combination of interior and exterior colour is rare, so if you like it, go for it. I decided to grin and bare the cost despite not getting as much thrown in as I would want, I'm very happy as I got the amber leather, sunroof, xenons etc that I was after. Happy motoring if you do go ahead!

Thanks both...
I have to admit the Flamenco Red was NOT my choice at all I was actually after a White or Black but from my searching through Volvo Selekt, the D5 spec I could only find in this color. But this Red in White(?) leather interior looks nice and I quite like it now. The dealer agreed this morning to repair the leather and give me a tank of fuel which I'm very grateful for. They did say their trim specialist will not be in until Monday but I wanted to pick up the car this Friday so they agreed to just knock the price I was quoted for repairing (£165) so I can get it repaired myself. |
