Default Instrument binnacle

Hi
I have a 144 DL with the later dash and round speedo etc.
I would like a rev counter.

Would an early 240 dash binnacle fit as they have a small tachograph in the middle.

Thanks

They look very similar although I can't say if they are the same.

Be aware that not all 240s (up to '80 have that shape) come with rev counters

As Tony says re what the donor 240 comes with, BUT from memory the 140 binnacle has bottom-edge fixing points whereas the 240 has top-edge (or the other way round!). Similarly the multi-connectors can differ, and the fitment or need for a ballast resistor. Also later 240s don't use a speedo-cable, they are electric.
Take a trip to a breakers and check a 240 to be sure.

As far as I remember the rev counter is the same on the 144 and 244 ,up to about 1980 , the blank in the middle of the binnacle once removed leaves a space to plug the rev counter in , then you need to take a trigger wire back to the coil . The whole binnacle needs to be removed to do this , also make sure you have a 4 cyl rev counter as the 6 cyl looks identicle its marked on the back

If you are struggling to find a revcounter I may have one from many years ago
