Default Oil leak advice

Hi all, looking for some advice please.

I have a 2017 ('66 plate) xc90 D5 105K miles. Owned it just under a year and been running without issue. 2 weeks ago, low oil light came up and a week later car advised i need to top up 1 litre, which i did. I am aware there are some issues with this model consuming oil but 1l over 11 months c.8000 miles seems more than reasonable to me.

Sent it for yearly service today and they have advised there is an oil leak with oil all over the engine and c.£360 to investigate.

I do have a warranty (for what they are worth) but they will only cover a specific repair i.e. once the issue has been identified.

Not sure whether to
1. Leave it... I'm a bit tight at the moment and could like with 1l every 8K miles
2. Investigate now whilst my warranty is still active so at least there is a chance the repair will be covered

What would you do

thanks
