Default S40 drive 1.6 2012. Diesel cap stuck. Cap not flap. Help!

Any advice gratefully received. The fuel CAP (not flap) on my Volvo won't come off. It's not the lockable kind. Normally I just hit the button on the dash, it releases the flap and I can then unscrew the cap. Tonight: no dice.

When I go online no-one on any of the sites seems to be able to distinguish between a fuel cap and a fuel flap/door.

Seems like such a small problem, but no diesel means..

Thanking you in anticipation.

Coultry.

I've had this happen. I got mine to unscrew by pushing in HARD and turning, eventually it undid. Don't do it up so tightly when you put it back on is what I found. HTH
