XC70 Satnav - 'clear route'

Mine has option to display either hrs / minutes to arrival or time of arrival, both of which are hopelessly optimistic. I tried the postcode thing and that works fine now I'm doing it right

That's good the postcode is now working for you.

I realised after I posted that the info I gave you is for the pop up sat nav on the older models (I have a 08 XC70).

I'm not sure it's still the same for the newer models (around 2012 on?) with sat nav built in to the dash itself.

I have the same fifth menu item, Cancel guidance, as is already mentioned here, when I press the NAV button in my 2012 XC70.

I can also press the button for voice control and just say "Cancel guidance".

Thanks everybody. Good info & I am now sorted.

As an over-view, this Volvo sat nav is a bit disappointing. My previous car was 7 years older but had a factory fitted system with a larger touch screen inputting system. OK, it lacked some of the whistles & bells but was a simpler, intuitive & basically superior system. I feel as if I have taken a large technological step backwards. Looking at a later XC60 manual, it looks like the physical controls have been improved but the system is basically the same. It also appears that the letter selection & entry is now a letter wheel reminiscent of the first Dymo label printer I had back around 1975! How nostalgic. Still, you now have the option to speak to it.

I am getting to like the car overall.
