I grabbed a few pics today, will post later once I work out how.
Had the tank out, cleaned and flushed system, replaced rubber fuel hoses, cleaned out pump and got it working, stumped by two broken rubber isolators for fuel pump, or it would have been fired up today. Went to flush coolant, but it is spotless and clear pink, all good there it seems. There is 1 mention of rust to the rear on mot history, had a good look underneath and nothing seems to be repaired or patched, but the is a patch in the spare wheel well so assume that was it, nice solid car. Charging up a nearly new battery from a scrap car so it will be ready to fire as soon as back together. Monday or Tuesday Time permitting. |

All the extras mentioned are still on the car. How many left is suggesting these GL,s are very scarce, anyone know how many are club registered? I think from memory it was 7 manual and 2 auto licensed or sorn, with only the 144e showing less numbers. Itching to take the old girl for a spin. |

Finally got some time and a break in the weather and refitted the fuel tank.
Turned over for a few seconds and fired straight into life, found no leaks and no issues, not bad considering it has done sweet fa for over 5 years. Probably going to get seat re trimmed where it was glued previously, only 2 leather panels, the sides and backs are vinyl, give it all a good feed. Will give it a drive out at the weekend, blow the cobwebs away. It is such a straight and very original car that has had minimal body work, perfect if you want to mint one, or just drive and show for what it really is, a nice old survivor. I finally lifted the KGF paper mats, surprised to see blue carpet on an otherwise all black interior, but it looks to be original. |
