C30 2.0D Alternator replacement from under the bonnet
58 Volvo C30 2.0D R Design SE Sport
Please can anyone help me with this urgent question Am I able to remove/replace the alternator from under the bonnet ? It looks like I can do it if i get the fuel filter out of the way, but it might be a bit tricky getting at all the bolts and getting the belt off/on. Don't want to get stuck half way through the Job! (My understanding is usually you need to jack the car remove wheelarch etc which is a but tricky for me as i am parked up on sloping ground) Have already wasted ££s on a new battery which went flat in a few hours after fitting which i figure must mean the alternators diode pack/regulator are broke and rapidly draining it. Thanks all |

Hi
Have done it twice on my V50 2.0 D. I assume very similar Unbolted the fuel filter but left the pipes connected. Vague recollection one bolt has to be done by feel but not difficult Iain

Thanks for your reply, I guess the engine layout is similar (will check) and so good to know that it has been done that way. |

The bonnet layout is pretty much identical.
