Euro 6
Hi I am looking to purchase a second hand xc60 d4. Can anybody tell me what is the earliest registration date to get a euro 6 class car. I know the September 2015 date but some manufacturers introduced euro 6 cars before that and was wondering if Volvo had done something similar.
Thanks Ian. |

I think all the xc60 4cylinder(VEA) D4 fwd are euro 6. Some 5cylinder cars became euro 6 but were much later.
If you look here you can choose old pricelists - the engine spec page will tell you what euro code each motor has. The published date of each pricelist is then on the last page for you to work out when that spec became available. https://www.volvocars.com/uk/leasing...mys-pricelists. Also, an example from 2/2014 showing VEA engine is already Euro6 |

I believe all from Sep 2014 are euro6 engines, not just Volvo but all car manufacturers. Cant remember where I heard this but sure a google search will clarify.
We are about to get LEZ zones here in Edinburgh and Glasgow and the diesel cars have to be post Sep 2014 euro6 according to what I have read. Hope this helps.

To confuse matters there are multiple versions of Euro 6 now. The current version being Euro 6d temp which cars have to meet from September this year. Current MY volvo comply now. From 2020 Euro 6d will apply which is even more stringent.
