If they don't have any, PM me your address and i'll stick an LED or 2 in the post with a resistor if needs be although i think i have a couple of 12V LEDs, not sure what colours i've got but as long as it lights up when it should it'll do the job.

Ebay
5 ultrabright 5mm 12v green LEDs, prewired with colour coded wires, ordered off ebay. 99p free P&P should be here Fri or Sat.
A lot better than driving to Chatham when I have other things to do or paying nearly 3 quid for Maplins to post me one! |

Doesn't the VOL-FCR work on the later 900 series, with a OBD style socket, although seller has doubled his price by looks of things.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150889908762 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321189693718 will take a while to arrive, but would be tempted, for less than 8 quid, I have DICE for my S60's and 480 turbo has the code reader thing under bonnet, so no point in me getting one Last edited by cookie; Sep 17th, 2013 at 09:26. |

Unclear?
I was under the impression that the Volvo FCR program only worked with cars that were fully OBD2 compliant - but I may be wrong. I think I've seen a post about it somewhere...

This says that the Gendan PC-based code reader does not work. I do not know if that is the same program. |

Messaged sellers
I have messaged both sellers: -
"Will this work with my car? Volvo 945 Turbo 1996 N79 PDF - it is NOT OBD2 compliant. Do I need software on the PC? Does the software come with it? If not is the software available free to download and if so where? If not how much does the software cost?" |

The one thing to be careful of when asking sellers if it will work with your car is some of them simply don't know and have little or no technical knowledge. Sadly this leads to them being misinformed because they've seen the words "Volvo 945 Turbo 1996" so assume it works with/covers that model.
I had exactly the same when i saw a copy of "RAVE" (the genuine Rover Workshop manual for 1996 on models) listed as covering "All models" on ebay and asked the seller if it covered the 827 (which went out of production in 1995/6) and he said "YES". Sadly the only thing in there about the 827 is allocated times for various jobs! I hope your seller is better informed/more technically aware than mine was! As for the green LEDs, pretty good price! Hope they land quickly!

One reply
The seller of the first of those has replied:
"Hello, If it is NOT OBD2 compliant, the interface will not work on your car. Sorry. Please to go and see this website. It should help you to diagnoses the car by yourself. http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/faq/EngineOBDCodes.html Copy the link and paste into new browser." I of course thanked him nicely. |

The Man in China
The man in China says: -
"Hi friend, Thank you for asking. The cable work with 800 Series, C70, S40, V40, S70, V70, 900 series, S90 and V90.Does your car in this working range. Due to software,it is with the package.and Window xp is required when install the software. best regards cn1305 - chinacardiag" Or to put it another way he has no idea if it needs the port to be true OBD2 (I think). Almost tempted to get one to see if it does work. I could carry an old XP machine out to the car! |
