IPOD Interface + BT Adapter (Dension GW500 + BTA1500)
Used but good condition IPOD/USB/AUX Adapter + BTA1500 Bluetooth Adapter
I just removed this from my 2005 XC90, which it has worked flawlessly in for the last 3 years. The Bluetooth adapter works very well for streaming audio from a phone including steering wheel control of tracks. Phone call reception over bluetooth works but lack of official support by Dension, means microphone volume is low, though still usable. You can find details on the Dension website: http://www.dension.com/product/iPod-...ts/gateway-500 Model is Gateway 500 Dual FOT V3_R31_12 Compatibility: XC90 - MY 2002-2006, High Performance and Premium sound systems, without AUX input, with CDC Bluetooth Adapter is BTA1500 http://www.dension.com/product/bluet...dapter-bta1500 All necessary cables, instruction booklet and Installation guide (see photo). Looking for £200 (+ postage if unable to collect from Reading, Berkshire) They sell for at least this on ebay, but I wanted to offer to XC90 owners here first. If no offers by next weekend, it goes on ebay. |

Hello Gurj,
I'd like to take this please. I'm from Swindon so could collect on Sunday (as i'm tied up tomorrow). I could do cash on collection? Would you take £160 collected? thanks Last edited by Beavis; Jul 12th, 2013 at 15:32. |

Many thanks for the Dension, and the helpful instructions. I fully installed it (twice), but have now half removed as my battery ran flat whilst installing (doh).....
(I thought i'd installed it incorrectly as it worked fine, then wouldn't work - and I've since learnt the car went into power save mode........) it worked fine this morning though, just need to hide everything away again. just need to pair the BTA1500 to my phone now. (the S60 I brought down had blown the throttle to intercooler pipe off of the throttle body, so it was running naturally aspirated with no filter, and sounded like a bag of spanners! All sorted now for a 50p jubilee clip rather than a new turbo). |

Good to know about the Power Save mode.
Controlling Dension takes practice and some patience, since it is pretending to be a CD player. The patience bit, is waiting to see the expected command/mode name appear on the scrolling display before pressing and holding the NEXT track button. Once you are in the right mode it just works and powers on the same way next time. With phone BT paired the Dension will default to BT Audio mode and continue playback from where you left off, when you start the car. I tended to always use an iPod dock in the car and used the iPODs own UI (phone mounted on right-hand centre airvent using Brodit mounts - in particular a pass-through iPod connector mount), but sometimes allowed music playback over BT when phone was still in my pocket. |

Many thanks Gurj for the tip. I've located the dension under the gear shifter, and the bluetooth in a cavity behind the stereo to the left of the steering wheel, as with the factory phone module under the dash it wouldn't fit behind the headunit.
With the car battery fully charged it now works greats. Takes a bit of getting used to with the steering wheel & headunit controls, but i'll soon get the hang of it. I already use a brodit holder for holding an iphone next to the climate unit to send video to rear screens, so plan to buy a second to hold my phone to control the music as that will be easier than the other controls. the phone was a bit quiet on bluetooth, but i see they do a firmwear update which adds 6db, and it helped by turning the handset volume up a bit. many thanks once again for the tips. |
