Clutch Problem
Hopped into my 1999 2.5 V70 earlier this evening and as I was moving forward there was a 'clonk' from underneath the bonnet and the clutch stopped working. There is pressure at the pedal, but it would seem the clutch is permanently disengaged - you can select any gear without depressing the pedal and there is no drive at all. There is a faint whirring from under the bonnet, but other than that I haven't had a chance to look closer due to darkness and rain! Any ideas as to what has gone wrong - forewarned is forearmed before I speak to the garage tomorrow.

Quote:
i would expect there to be a leakeage in the pipework or slave cylinder rather than a cluch failure itself.... the clonk could well be the release of the clutch due to lack of pressure.... check under car as i say.... cheers jod
