The image of it removed highlights two threaded holes normally used for removal with a dedicated puller

It's still on I think Russ, think he's trying to source a puller to get it off.

Sorry for confusion. No the new sprocket is one for my 144 B20. I just included it to highlight the wear. B16 doesn't have the threaded holes.

It is a challenge removing the crank gear which have no threaded holes. The Cloyes ally cam and steel gear a case in point.
You need to get a couple of steel fox wedges to create enough of a gap to get a puller arm under. I used the fox wedges and a g clamp to ‘squeeze’ the wedges in rather than hammering.

This is in principle similar to the official puller. A bit pricy for a one off job.

The crank gear will still need to be drawn off the crank slightly to get this puller underneath.
I recommend once off the crank gear is drilled and tapped For a more effective puller

I said that and I’ve changed both gears three times since
1. Because The Cloyes matched pair were not matched
2. For a cam change
3. Because the cam lobes had excessively worn despite using the recommended oil for flat tappet engines
Hopefully you won’t have too and the old followers on a new cam will bed in together
