Hi Olly,
Well, what you get is as per the Koni blurb, but the really noticeable thing I found is was they vastly improved the handling - much better body control, no wallowing, very good turn-in on corners, and a much better "drivers" car, especially when "making progress". Transformed the handling, I would say - this is on a standard spec 2009 car, not an R-design, though I am told they work as well on the R-design. Now, this is available through the usual much harder racing-type shocks, but what those do is ruin the ride as well. The Koni's give you the handling benefit but with a similar ride quality to the originals, some would say a better ride. We've taken them off as they didn't really suit our driving style which is more slow/old fogie and we had a broken spring which needed fixing (unrelated to the shocks - winter salt cracking) so we took the opportunity and went back to the OEM shocks as we are also going to be selling the car before too long. Hope that helps. |
