850 t-5r
Thinking of buying an 850 t5r estate i have seen locally.
The guy is asking £1000. Its a 1995, 148k on clock, auto, black leather interior. The only thing thats wrong with it, the body has its fair share of blemishes and he says its been keyed along the side by some prat. Would this be a worth while purchase for the asking price? He wont budge on the £1000. Any feedback from the you guys would be appreciated. Thanks. |

Provided it's mechanicaly in good nick then a grand is a good price, there are cheaper ones out there but they're probably dogs... I was selling mine recently which has been very well looked after and is in very good condition, I was asking £2500 for it, so a grand's not much.

+1, if it is in good mechanical shape, then that is a good price. Otherwise, if you are going to have to put money into it, you may want to look else where.

As said if it's in no need of major mechanical work I would say for £1,000 your doing well unless of course the bodywork is really bad. So if it's nice mechanically and not completely battered you may be onto a good bargin, if not you could probably make a fair amount back in parts if you are in a position to strip it

From the pictures i have seen, the front spoiler is intacked but paint has been badly chipped from going over road bumps too fast !!
Also both doors on one side have been keyed quite deep, a bit of blistering on the bonnet, and a small dent in one front wing. Also just noticed that it has'nt got a rear spoiler.. Been looking for a while now for a half decent R model. Any suggestions where i may take a look for one for sale...looked on the most common sites, but a bit over my price range. Thanks. |

If it's an estate then don't worry about the rear spoiler, mine didn't have one either, I think it was an option and not everyone paid to have one fitted from new.

be careful... I was going to look at a T5r olive green estate in bracknell that was selling for
GBP 1000.00... Had paint damage on front bumper near side front. It was sold the same day it was advertised. if its the same car, then its possible its got a problem and the new owner is already passing it on ?? But I could be wrong - good luck |
