Hi

What mpg does the gas conversion give and what does this equate to in cost to fill tank and what range. Where is the tank located and does that mean no spare wheel ?

Any faults with the electronics or damage to body work \ Interior.
How often does the conversion need servicing and at what cost

The LPG is almost exactly the same in mpg as petrol; just for info, the way it works is (all totally automatic): you start car and drive off, and after about 2-3 miles (depending on temperature outside) the engine is warm enough to heat up the LPG (little unit near the injectors) and car switches to LPG. Because of the short period running on petrol, it is difficult to say what the LPG is actually giving mpg-wise, but when filled (c.55 litres, currently about 75p a litre) it will do about 180 miles based on longer runs (over 10 miles). Doing the school run (4 miles) it is in petrol mode for longer as a proportion, so the tank is empty after 210 miles... but as you see, it is hard to give actual figures. Confused? Don't be, LPG is virtually the same energy content as petrol, so you are getting the same mileage for nearly half the cost - I estimate this equates to around 30mpg, in cost terms.

As you guessed, the tank fits where the get-you-home spare was (under rear), and so I fitted the car with run-flats. Before I put the run-flats on I used to carry a couple of cans of that liquid rubber, and successfully used these to do quick fixes on punctures. I also tried carrying the spare in a roof-box, but decided it was not practical.

There are no faults with the electronics as far as I am aware. The only faults the car has had were 1) a connection for the cruise control came undone, just pushed back together; and 2) last service a pin in one of the coils was not pushed back in properly, again, problem found, pin pushed in and all sorted.

Apart from that, no faults, and there is no interior or exterior damage; these cars are really well built, so even the carpets stand up to the kids very well!

The LPG needs servicing once a year by a certified LPG specialist (Arun Autogas did it last Nov) - £110 set price.

maybe it is priced a bit rich. I have been shown a deal on a smaller car I would like, but I have less than 24 hours at that price. If anyone wants to show me a £14,500 bid, it is yours, but has to be very quick.
