Awww you wanna know, but I wanna tell my tale of my roadtrip. Ok I give in, when I was checking the tyre pressue with the electric pump (all at least 10 psi down) the battery went flat despite the engine running and had also cut out. AA turned up real quick (whilst I was thinking unkind thoughts of the "very reliable" car breakdown 1/4 a mile from where I bought it). He confirmed the dead battery, then said the alternator wasnt charging, just when I thought a long relay was pending, he wiggled the wires at the rear of the alternator, and hey presto charging resumed. He cleaned the connectors, but I didnt take a chance I drove all the way home 340 miles and 6+ hours without stopping.

The person I bought it from insisted they used the car daily..... I am less convinced.

Long drive!! Bit of a bad start but at least it was nothing serious! Even if the alternator has got an intermittent fault there are plenty of good s/h ones (i actually have one on my spares car) and only a 15 min job to swap!

Yeah I think that's what he called it. It was a lovely drive back home and the smell of cigar smoke was very appropriate. It was in okay condition, yet the owner was entreating me to 'pleeease look after her', yeah love is fine, but needs to be backup up by maintenance (stopped in 2007), and basic vehicle conditioning..... the old girl had mildew on the roof, no touched in stone chips, buffed out scuffs, brake dust caked wheels, some broken trim, broken grill, cracked light, bent tow bar, wing mirrors hanging off, etc,. Filled the tyres to 35, loved the sheer solidness of the interior, over my 760, and the ride wasn't as soggy as my 760, you heard bumps but didn't feel them, and steered home with my little finger, going down hill was annoying as you have the momentum of the moon, and keep catching up to little euro boxes. Bloody loved it, but i cant use and abuse it, so I'm going to be on the lookout for bits to get her sorted out.

I'm thinking of entreating Satan to reserve a special place in hell for people who dont take care of their cars and Ebay for having a better one in much better colour and condition for £300 more and 4 hours nearer after I bought this one and myself for buying unseen......grrrrrr. I though £750 was cheap until I looked to see what the others on Ebay sold for
