Default 460 Turbo, No Start!

Hi all.

Well, this morning my 460 Turbo refused to start, meaning my preganant missus had to walk to work.

Not good!

So, when I got home from work I had a poke around.

I thought I'd check the obvious things like spark and fuel, I couldn't tell if I was getting a spark in the daylight, so moved onto fuel.

I cracked the supply the nut on the fuel rail and turned on the ignition - nothing.
No priming, nothing on cranking, but when the ignition was turned ALL the way off... WOOSH!!
Petrol everywhere.
It only ran for a second, but it was a good job I wasn't smoking!

So, very strange electrical problem I think. Maybe a stuck relay somewhere?

As usual, Haynes is utter cr@p. I actually very nearly called in to the Haynes museum when I was on holiday in Dorset, just to ask them why they continue to produce such complete pish!

Anyway, rant over.

I could do with some help locating the fuel pump relay so I can have a look at what's going on.
There are 2 that I've found behind the glovebox, could it be one of these?

Anyone else have any ideas on my problem?

Please guys, I can't make Mrs Sideways walk to work for much longer while she is with child!
I need my car to earn my living by the way!

Thanks,

Steve

Im not Infront of my car so cannot 100% guarantee accuracy of my information, but the relay is near the drivers side and has a pink wire which is a common earth. Check the earth firstly. You might not be getting enough current = lazy relay from lack of good earth

He fuel pump relay is in a red or white socket behind the fusebox in the drivers side near the ecu iirc. Check that u het no fault codes if you have obd and now its dark check the spark on the king spark lead - I dont need to tell you how do I?

Let us know what it is in the end

Not had a chance yet, Andy.

Been mega busy With work, trying to set up on my own again and not had 5 minutes to myself. Not even been getting home until gone 10 every night.

Feel pretty guilty really, but Louise understands.

I'll report back when I know more mate

Cheers

Found the bu99er!

It was where you said Andy, tucked right up near the under side of the main relay box.
Found it while on my back in the driver's side footwell with one leg over the top of the seat and the other hanging out of the door!

Anyway, I pulled the two relays from their mount, gave a little wiggle and it started!

Oh well, at least I know where it is in case it happens again

Cheers mate.

You probably want ford f-250 forums, this is a forum for volvos

If your ford f250 is diesel or petrol, get a bigger bore exhaust and a performance air filter. Maybe get the ecu chipped or remapped. Thats all I can offer on advice
