Default Basic question thats useful for all,

Hi All,

Ive got a 1998 mint V70 XC manual gearbox...can service the usual engine oil etc,,,but want to service the rear diff and any other essentials linked to my AWD system. Ive seen genuine diff oil on ebay going cheap,,Ive got a good Volvo mechanic enthusiast (Pensarn Volvo) but hes never worked on an AWD V70 before,,basically said get the oil and we will have a look but help would be nice ) So basically what do we need and what do we service! Thanks

Hi,

Old adage: "If it looks too good to be true, it probably is!"
Same can be applied to "It looks cheap".

You are indeed correct Andy, I've got one bottle of Genuine Volvo rear diff oil.

I've got it on eBay for £16 delivered but anyone on here can have it for £15 if outside eBay

What's the capacity for the rear diff? I may take this if it's still up for grabs

I would also renew the bevel gearbox oil. Its at the offside back of the gearbox and takes the drive to the rear axle. No drain plug. See my post in the AWD section.
Also the Haldex unit oil. Its on the input to the differential. This is also a vac removal and Syringe fill.
