Default throttle off turbo whoosh

hi,

my 2012 V60 1.6 diesel at 60K miles has begun to make a whoosh noise when throttle off in gear. (like petrol engine wastegates but much sicker)

i'm pretty sure there is no pressure leakage and no performance issues.

any ideas appreciated

I've had this with my s40 1.6d. First time I noticed It was when i was coming off the accelerator at about 3000 rpm. Car ran great with no problems so I just kept an eye (or ear) on it. The noise got progressively louder and the car went VERY sluggish. I mean going up hill in 2nd was just about possible.i can only describe the sound as a sort of fast 'woop woop woop woop woop' when letting off the accelerator. Quick trip to my 'go to' garage nailed it down to a clogged fuel filter and swapped it out there and then. Problem solved!
I've learned never to take your eye off these 1.6 engines. I've had my s40 now for 5 years and there's always something waiting to go wrong. Currently wrestling with a low power issue that's got me stumped!
