Just repeat this weekends episode every couple of years/25k or thereabouts, I've done similar and egr is still relatively clear, only a quick brush-up with carb cleaner, job done start to finish in 30 mins.
I used to run millers ecomax every fill for a few years until kids arrived and life expenses increased, that may have been partially responsible.

My uncle said the same, do this every couple of years and it'll be fine. Not a bad idea if you ask me. Lets just hope that it won't be stuck in as bad when i do it again, on hopefully, the same car!

No it won't be! There'll be a touch of resistance first-off but will easily overcome and slide out.

That's reassuring to know, cos it was a PITA to get out haha. Went in a breeze after I cleaned it off. At least it's done now
