Default Rattly parcel shelf

Hi folks. As title really, my parcel shelf is very rattly. I've padded the sides, where it slides into the mounting, out with thick padded tape but it made no difference.
Anyone else suffer from this? Very annoying.

Yes me too, and the fix was easy

I bought self-adhesive Velcro tape, and stuck some of the soft part on the cargo area cover. The adhesive is really strong.
This stopped the plastic on plastic contact, which was making the rattling squeaking sound over bumps
Now dead quiet.

OK, so two votes for velcro. I need a bit more explanation on the application though. A pic or two would be greatly appreciated guys

That's not where mine squealed and rattled.
Mine made noise when the cargo cover was retracted
It was where the main ends of the cargo cover fitted into the slots left and right, just behind the rear seat backs.
I stuck the velcro onto the cargo cover ends to stop the plastic on plastic contact

Yeah, I also have the number plate tape there too but to no avail. I can live with it, but Mrs P despises car rattles!

Terrible rattles and squeaks so in desperation, I simply sprayed a little amount of spray grease lubricant (same as used on door hinges, etc) into the locating holes and plastic ends of the cover. Regarding, the ends of the cover (which you pull and locate) I did nothing as the squeaks came from the cover unit itself which located in the body side recesses

Perfect !! no more noises. been silent for a month so far. this worked for me
