Default Oil filter spigot for B18 without oil cooler

I'm thinking of taking off the oil cooler from my B18B, 67 1800S, so I'll need the shorter length oil filter spigot thing (or whatever it's called). Anyone got one they're willing to part with?

is that the big pancake type cooler they used on the B20E ? You could replace it with a modern smaller one , it is certainly worth having as it not only cools the oil , it heats it up quickly too for better economy ...

AFAIK the oil cooler did not change over the life of the 1800 apart from loosing the drain ****, so yes it will be the same as what you have seen on a B20E. My 1800S has been rather abused in its life. When I recommisioned the engine I flushed out a huge amount of sludge from the cooling system. I suspect that the only reason I am not getting oil/water contamination due to internal leaks in the cooler is that it is probably still clogged with sludge. I just want to remove a potential weak point in the engine and also be able to use the cheaper lower radiator hose. I may refit it at a later date so I won't be binning the parts.

I think I have a few b18's around that I could pull one of the pipes off of. But I have never tried to pull one, I assume it's just a pipe nipple with the correct threads on each end....

Drop me a note off list if you are still looking for one. I'm across the pond but ship 544/122/1800 parts all over the world...

Thanks

Hi Andrew,

Definately a good move binning the oil cooler.
I got rid of mine and the oil actually comes up to temperature a lot quicker and stays in it's optimum range in all traffic conditions I've encountered. IMO you are better off without them.
I have never come across A B20e (P1800) that has an oil cooler fitted. I always thought that they were never fitted with the cooler. Maybe they were on the Amazon B20s?
Should be plenty of scrap Amazon B18's out there that will be able to donate the shorter spindle.

I have recently removed the oil cooler from a 66 1800. The short spigot and ew bottom hose was purchased from Amazon Cars on 01379 388400
