B230ET + 13mm conrods push hp up to around 300, lowered about an inch, 0 rust (like that will ever happen), leo wheels and keep it as mint as possible.

Get a transmission that can cope with the engine I run, without screwing up the weight distribution.
Get all the niggles out of the entire setup so it passes as a "this is how Volvo would have made it" swap. I've always been aiming for the 300 equivalent of the HS Chevette, Lotus Sunbeam or RS2000 Escorts, which I guess for period my car was made it's peers would have been the mk2 Golf GTi etc. It's the reason I've gone for the same engine family that the car was sold with and trying to keep everything from the Volvo or Renault parts bins where possible. The GLT was always more a warm hatch than a hot hatch and I imagine the marketing guys wouldn't let the hottest 300 have a Renault engine in it, but they had a couple of very interesting engines in the Renault stable.

Keep it running, not lose it to tin worm or part that fails for which there is no supplier.
On LPG with low insurance, easy maintenance and reliable it is simply the cheapest car around.

There will always be a part around, just as long as you have got a spare arm or leg to pay for it. and i think tin worm is every 300 owners nightmare. mine's going off for extensive welding soon.

To finish my resto + Turbo project, stop getting rust and dirt in my eyes and enjoy the car after 10 years of garaging!
