Jumping CD
now that the recent fiasco with my CD player is resolved i have encountered a new problem (big surprise there). my new CD is jumping when i hit a bad bump on the road. my old unit never did this, but unfortunately is in CD heaven. does anyone know how to fix this problem.
PS the CD sits in the boot. |

RE: Jumping CD
You dont say the make/model of changer, but most in car units have to know if they are mounted vertically or horizontally, usually a screw or two on the case to adjust. If it's at the wrong setting it will jump. Check the installation book or post back here.

RE: Jumping CD
I have an sc-700 with volvo 6 cd changer and mine is mounted on the rear of one of the rear seats, it jumps occasionally so should it be laying flat somewhere instead of vertical

RE: Jumping CD
The last CD changer I had 'non Volvo' had a transportation screw that needed removing before use. It allowed a damping mechanism to move freely within the changer.
