The complexity level of a T5 vs a 16V redblock is huge though, for little gain. If £100 scares you for bits for the redblock, how are you going to affix the T5 block to the 360 drivetrain? That's a huge expense, even if you have a mill in house.

I would investigate mounting the motor with an awd box and rwd it with a awd rear drivetrain. but the 300 is my baby and i don't want to go modifying this one to that extent. maybe my next one if its of sound body. That's why i thought twin cam. keep the block the mounts etc and just get an exhaust made to fit the twin cam. more hands on than a 700 engine swap but i know what is where and how its done this way. .

The AWD box mounts the engine transversely, so that wouldn't be good for a 300. The best thing to do, as Chris says, is use a bellhousing adaptor to the standard 360 drivetrain. The only downside is that there's cost involved.

cheers

James

They're certainly a lot more common...and in some ways, easier.

cheers

Yes even over here they still rare but a lot more common than twin cam and probably easier than turboing a 200e
