Longlife exhaust pictures 850 2.5l 10v
I finally got around to taking some pics of my Longlife exhaust for my 1996 850 2.5l 10v, heavily adapted from original fit to have twin tail pipes.

It was done by Longlife exhausts at their new Leeds garage.
They have several garages in the South - Birmingham/Cardiff/Bristol/London/Plymouth. www.longlife.co.uk Prices obviously vary depending what you want. I had from the manifold drop-pipe flange backwards - so that was flexi-pipe/cat/silencers/twin exit adaption/twin acoustic tailpipes. £950. Mine took a little more work as they had to figure out how to add the second pipe without it looking bodged. A single normal pipe-run was going to be about £700ish. The type of tailpipe can add to the bill (I believe the acoustic ones are £50 each). It's about 16cm outside circumference....much wider bore than the original Volvo exhaust. They said at the time that the bore on the original exhaust was the kind they'd put on a 1 litre engine! The rear valence was cut away by them to mirror the original exhaust cutout. The 'new rear mount' pic shows the cutout quite well, as well as the extra bracket they had to fit to hold the second pipe on. |

there is also a metal L section behind the bumper that has to be cut/ground to place the other tailpipe to the correct height

That looks brilliant and you would never know it was'nt original.
I was talking to a guy the other day with a 97 S40 that he had from new and had done 255.000 miles in it. He still had the same standard exhaust on it!! |
