850 Alarm fob
Hi to everyone,
This is my first post and I hope someone out there could help me. I'm having a problem with my remote. When I press the lock/unlock button the contacts don't seem to be working. On investigation the sticky pads inside seem to be worn out! Does anyone know where these pads can be bought in the UK. I would much rather replace these than pay £60.00 for a new remote which seems fine otherwise. Thanks for your time. Mike. (Durham) |

RE: 850 Alarm fob
Not sure what you mean by sticky pads but I repaired my key fob yesterday. After prising it open you need to remove the circuit board and work WD40 into the microswitches which will remove any gunk that has built up on the contacts. keep wiping with a tissue.

If the carbon surface in the indent of the plastic membrane has worn off you can repair it with this kit from CPC, (repairs 50!!) You may be able to get a similar kit from Maplin.

RE: 850 Alarm fob
Hi Mike, I had problems with my remote, cleaned the fob out, new batteries, done the reset as the book said - ok for a few days, asked for help on this form, great help from all the guys - but last resort had to take it to volvo they done a code test / read out and found that it was a faulty managenent system on the fob side, they said up to £600. so I have left it as it works most of the time and the time it does not work I use the key. Sorry to sound depressing but I hope this helps and you only have flat batteries. BJ 850R |
