Default R-Design v Executive

New to the forum. Joined up as I am considering chopping in my Disco3 for an XC90. I'd be interested to hear from any owners regarding comparing the R Design to the Executive.
I love the look of the R Design but I have heard the ride is not that good.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

Personally, I have not seen the point of the r-design, as its just not that kind of vehicle... its not a sports car for handling, and will never be quick unless a V8... plus, as you say, the ride is somewhat firm and not really what the car is all about.

I would get the exec and ensure you have the toys you want.

Each to their own however...

Why not add a poll so you see who votes for what?!?!

I drove both...to be fair, I doubt my xc90 will see more than a gravel carpark, and therefore opted for the rdesign...I'm sure it had to do with me selling my 911 to buy it and being used to a tough ride..feels comfortable enough for me.

The steering wheel is much nicer on the "R" Design.
My 2011 Exec's steering wheel is harder (less comfortable) than the wheel in my 2003 D5 SE which I have just sold - both being leather and not wood.

True, however....I'm looking forward to long trips with my family rather than struggling with luggage space and trying to get the babyseat in....

Exec is better equipped but more expensive.

R design is for rich chavs IMHO.

How many rear exhausts do you need anyway

The R-design is the trim level you muppet and has nothing to do with the engine...
