Default S60 Reverse Camera

Hello, I am currently having issues with my reverse camera which is getting worse. When I select reverse the image from the camera either flickers or I get a blue screen.

Has anyone else had this issue? From having a read online it would seem the loom is at fault

Hi

I had the same problem recently. It was fixed under warranty through a Volvo dealership, they fitted an equaliser which I think buffers the memory image and got rid of any flickering or blue screens. I was told the part was around 200 quid and is fitted in the boot

From memory cabling runs from front to rear depending on what model you have it comes from either icm or iam cable runs to rear to camera in handle area
From memory there are only two types wires run from cem or not so I'm guessing it would either be icm or iam at fault and to replace them would be more than £200 possibly sw upgrade

Regards

Just dug out the paperwork

Part no 31471726 Equalizer.

It’s fitted behind the NS rear light cluster. Looks like it just plugs in.

We have the same issue with our V60, sometimes the camera works fine, sometimes it flickers, and sometimes if just a Blue Screen, it's totally random. We had it in at volvo they investigated it but couldn't find the issue as the Camera worked most of the time they had the car.

They suspected either the camera itself, or the cabling both are over £300. They said they didn't want to start replacing parts without knowing 100% it would fix the issue, and wanted the car back again to check. Second time it went in typically the camera worked fine :-(.

It recently went for a service at a Volvo independant, and they had a look and said in thier opinion it was most likely the Camera. So at the minute we are waiting for a second hadn one to come up for sale so I can try that. But they seem to go for over £100 2nd hand, and as we have parking sensors too we cant really justify the cost
