I've got my car back after 9 days, having had the entire side resprayed due to the hit and run in the car park so next is the emblem. Fortunately it's just the rectangular badge I need which is only 2 quid from a dealer - no need for anything else and they keep a stock of them. Much cheaper from a dealer than eBay for a change.

Anyone know where I can get a replacement without paying a ridiculous £30 from Volvo. There must be people making replacements at sensible prices.
where did you get that outrageous quote from ?

That's what the repairers quoted me and what the whole badge costs - what they didn't say (or perhaps bother to find out) is that the centre decal can be bought separately for a couple of quid.

Thanks. I received them from the seller I purchased my car from. Brand new and not fitted due to lack his skills. Don't know where he got them from, but CTCNetwork posted links to similar ones on ebay in my thread:

Probably not a volvo approved body shop or they would have known about it :-)

I went with the insurer's recommended repairer but only after I had read reviews of their work which got universal praise. It was just easier - they could start without an assessor and provide a car which i didn't have for at fault claims (which as the culprit did a runner, it effectively was) on my own policy. The fact that they wanted to respray the entire side not just the affected panels was encouraging.

The job is a good 'un - good match, nice finish and they tell me they only used genuine parts and paint from an approved Volvo supplier so overall, I'm happy. I got the front bumper resprayed to sort some scuff marks (they had to do half of it anyhow) and the rear which had been nudged previously as well as the entire nearside.

sure, taking it to Volvo would have been the ideal but I'm still happy with the result.

Grrr, grill badge delaminated. Ordered one on ebay for £3.75 with free p&p which is pretty reasonable. Just need warmer weather before I fit it. Unless the whole badge pops out easily and I can do it indoors?

If anyone here is thinking about getting one from ebay and has a dealer nearby, pop in and save £1's over these ebay prices

My local dealer is £4.50 worth of fuel to get there and back. How does that compete with £3.75 for genuine parts on ebay delivered free to the door?
