Default XC70 D5 - Spares/ Repairs W.Yorks

Details below - I'd welcome feedback on the price but let's say £500...

XC70 D5 SE Lux Geartronic on 220k - Black with black leather - OV53 UTE
MOT expired in Sep 19: failed on the following -

Rear Anti-roll bar pin or bush excessively worn d bushes
Nearside Headlamp aim projected beam image is obviously incorrect
Front Fuel hose leaking

NB - the 'front fuel hose' was not leaking - it was power steering fluid.

Plus various advisories on suspension links/ coolant leak/ misting of oil on front shocks.

I won't go into details about how I have let this car down but in essence, I planned to fix and life and incompetence got in the way.
ARB has been cut off/ removed.
Subsequent to the MOT fail, the car has thrown an anti-skid service message up. Search my user name for threads which relate - it's a comms issue between the 4 wheel drive module and the ECU.

Positives
Engine and box are both great - no geartronic issues. If you have trade plates you could drive her anywhere.
Loads of expenditure in last 5 years including clock spring, core plug, drive plate, front and rear discs and pads, cambelt/ aux belt at 175k, steering rack etc etc
Handbrake is perfect.
4 Hankook summer tyres with approx. 2k wear etc
HU 803/ SatNav screen/phone/ picnic table in rear/ reversing sensors - all the toys

Can anyone save her? Best car I've ever owned. The asking price will include Volvo anti roll bar (£178!) and top quality drop links.

PM me for pics.

I should have said, the car is in good overall condition - the usual mini dinks and scratches consistent with daily use but polishes up well and imho, in the best colour combo.

If you genuinely want feedback on the price then IMO the unfortunate truth is that with no MOT and the list of faults you describe the car is basically scrap. This is bad news as scrap prices are on their arse at present.

IMO it *might, might be worth £200-300 to a a brave (Masochist) enthusiast or specialist breaker like the guys in Huddersfield.

Hi Joe, I've come to that conclusion myself (broadly) although I'll attempt to sort the anti-skid service message by cleaning the contacts on the diff module since that's the only unstraightforward issue - although dropping one side of the suspension to fit the new ARB is obviously masochist territory!

So - the car is here for £300 for any masochists for a week and then away to Hudds it will go. I'll also listen to any pms concerning breakage - interior/ ICE, satnav, phone, picnic table etc etc!!

But I am time poor so I won't be dropping gearboxes etc

Cheers, Nick

Let me be clear that the £180 OEM ARB and £40 Meyle drop links - both new and in packaging - will be subject to separate negotiation if the buyer wants them.
