Default V70 Rear wiper blade - is there a trick ?

Just trying to replace the rear wiper blade on my 2003 V70. Handbook says it just "pops off" - well mine doesn't. It is well stuck. So, is there a trick to getting it off, a catch needing depressing or summat ? or will it be just a case of brute force required.
The youtube vid shows removing of the arm first and then it literally drops out - I haven't tried that yet - is that needed ?

Cheers

John

Don't know about popping it off - horrid plasticky thing that it is would probably take any excuse to snap. Being tight, I remove the middle bit of windscreen wipers when the ends start to fray and thread it into the rear wiper arm. Ditto headlamp wipers.

I just took our 2002 XC70 into the Volvo dealer and got them to do it, £20 to change all blades plus cost of blades of course

That's good thinking ! The old one was already "out" at one end so I popped it back in - never occurred to me to slide the whole blade out and replace with the new one.

Will look at that tomorrow.

Cheers

Trouble is our nearest dealer is 20-odd miles away and I have already done the windscreen & headlamp ones.

I know Halfords do it too.

Cheers John
