Smile Should I be worried

Hi all
Have come across Aircon problem seems intermittent but not sure how to remedy it.
Driving home wife had been waiting in car with heater set to hot Aircon on
Was too hot so decided to set lower just seemed to get hotter finally set to cold but stayed hot ......turned fan to zero and back on after couple of minutes it finally was stone cold .
Temperature gauge for engine was dead settled entire time spot on centre.

Is this a common fault or should I worry.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Could be the potentiometer on the PCB for the heat control knob giving up, if so it's likely the fan speed one will also be erratic at some point and is a very common problem. Fairly easy and inexpensive fix.

This is only me assuming though, could be a number of things!

Trying spinning the temperature knob fast, all the way from one end to the other and do it 15-20 times. That may clean the contacts and the AC may behave. If it improves then it's definitely the potentiometer, so ideally, you can change it sometime in the near future
