Hi

Whenever I reply to a PM it comes up with not submitted as you haven't posted 30 posts or some crap error, so please contact me through this listing, not pvts.

There's lights/seats/doorcards on ebay now - just search volvo 960 under with auctions only selected. Although I'll probably end the auction for the lights as I am bound to get another 745 Turbo in as I love them and the lights are always majorly manky.

I am hoping to get more stuff off over the weekend, but it will need to go soon as having a Volvo carcus in one's garden is not too attractive a sight - hence why it's being broken and scrapped.

PS. Cheeky promotion. I have a 1989 244 GLT Auto Deep Blue Metallic/Tan Leather 2 lady owners from new, FSH, low miles at 103K, fully serviced inc. new timing belt and tensioner fitted, brand new Pirelli 195/60/HR15 P6000 tyres all round, reconditioned wheels, new genuine Volvo overdrive relay, gearbox serviced, new door bins and centre console, replacement headlamp reflectors, rear lights etc etc. For sale soon with 12 months MoT.

Virtually stripped all the bits I can get off to sell and am exhausted and cut everywhere to prove it, so if anyone wants to come and take alternators, engine bits etc, the only bits I am removing are the radiator, ABS pump and airflow meter. Surely it's worth someones's while coming and jacking up the car to take the rear springs and shocks - must be expensive self-levelling ones on this flagship model? I only need to take the wheels off then the scrap man will be called.

DOORS: checked the doors and they are as I thought utterly rust free and in very good order, come complete with glass, e/window regulators and c/locking stuff, I have removed the door-cards, exterior handles, and exterior window "scraper" trims". The "scrapers" are the rubber/metals bits that sit on the outside at the base of the side windows. Satin black original finish, no bubbling or deterioration and the rubber sits correctly alongside both sides even at the rear end approaching the tailgate where the rubber starts to part company with the metal - - easy 10-minute swap to tidy up your Volvo.

HEADLAMP WIPERS: Tested today and in perfect working order and park exactly as they should. Have carefully retained all the plumbing tubes back to the screenwash tank. Easier to sell them complete with excellent headlamps than trying to separate.

WINDOW SWITCHES: Are the earlier 740/760 type so not with illuminated symbols.

SEATS: On Ebay and in really excellent condition, have traced back most of the loom so shouldn't be too tricky to fit to a 740/940 without an electric driver's seat as standard. Definitely smarter than the vast majority of Volvo estate interiors.

DOORCARDS: On Ebay, have inspected again and have no scuffs or scrapes, in great condition with the smarter carpeting on the bottom. Will fit all 740/760 models.

CARPETS: In charcoal grey, super condition, 2-owner car never smoked in, no stains, no burns. Mush plusher and better quality than 740/940 carpets and have loads of sound deadening underneath as befitting the price tag of a 960 new.

16-inch "Hydra Wheels": Rare and correct extra-cost option for early 960 models, only fitted as standard in the UK to some early 940 2.3 Turbo's. WIll fit all 740/760/940 and pre-95 960 models.

Frustratingly whilst removing bits in the engine bay I think I discovered why the £200 expenditure at Volvo hadn't cured the car spewing oil. They replaced the early 960 "foam" type elbow that links the airflow meter to the throttle body housing, they said it had split and charged me £84+VAT for what appeared to be an improved elbow in ribbed rubber, so I thought well at least I can salvage this new part as it's clearly a 960 weakness, only to discover the ham-fisted goon who fitted it had completely sheered off the breather connection on this new elbow with an over-tightened jubilee clip so the thing was split and gaping open for 80% of the circumference - no wonder the car idled no better and still spewed oil... and it's too late to complain now...

Does this mean you are now willing to sell the "scrappers" seperately from the doors?

Technically I only need one of them, and as mine is a saloon, I wouldn't need the extra 2, but I can see why you'd want to sell them as a whole. How much are you looking for, including secure postage?

I'll put the stuff, wheels included in due course, on Ebay as this post was primarily to get people to get bits they need and I don't before the car is crushed.

Wheels will definitely go on EBay so they'll make whatever the market is willing to pay for them, so I'm not giving them away in here for £40.
