Big difference on the head bolts though. The 90nm is for the very early redblock and head bolts which have an allen head from memory. James made this mistake on mine and snapped the headbolt in the block.

I think the differences in headbolts actually refer to the b2** and b2* blocks. Nearly everyone on here will have a b2** block.

Default 940 lpt head gasket change

The engine on my car was seeping water/antifreeze from the right side between the head and block, so I got on to the job last Saturday.
Removal went fine apart from bottom nut locating the exhaust to the turbo refusing to open. I eventually had to cut the nut with a 4 1/2 grinder having removed the oil filter for better access.
Cleaned the block with a scraper and then polish it with a wire brush attachment on the grinderette. Carefully scraped the alloy head then polish it with 600 grade wet on a sanding block using plenty of wd 40 for lubrication.
I also took advantage of changing the Mitsibushi td04 turbo as it was letting some oil thrugh. I had bought a second hand turbo on on ebay for £5 and I then fitted an overhall kit on it a few months ago.
From what I could see I have come to the conclution that the gasket problem on my 940 was caused by previous owners not changing and flushing the cooling system regularly. The car has done 89,000 miles and it had 70,000 miles on it with a service history when we bought it.
I change the coolant every 2 years on our cars and people I do work for, but how many garages that service your car do it?
Extremely important to flush the cooling system regularly.
