^^ it's a square tooth - 1987 reg - but if you see my separate thread - we may have some issues with the mating surface of the head itself......

I've got a square tooth belt sitting here. Since all of my engines have been converted to round-tooth (longer inverval), it's yours for whatever you think it's worth plus postage.

Will post in your thread about the head, too.

cheers

James

PS - my tired brain tells me B200k is the carburettor version? if so should have said it's a B200E - the basic Bosch injection version....

Correct.

(Ignoring OHV and 'auxilliary' designations like FB, FK...)
A = sidedraft carb
E = injection without lambda control*
F = injection with lambda control & cat
G = injection with lambda control, but without cat
K = downdraft carb

* E engines 'generally' had Bosch K-Jet mechanical injection...but there were some EFI models too (360 Injection on Bosch LE-Jet, 740/760 Turbo on Bosch Motronic, 760 V6 on Bosch LH-Jet 2.2).

cheers

James

This is a round tooth, so back in the garage it goes.

Let me know if you want the square tooth

I said "ignoring OHV and 'auxilliary' designations like FB, FK..."

right...secondary digits...and I'm going to keep it UK-market and redblock only, else it just gets mental...(although I did include 'G' earlier, which was never UK-market...)

FB = with performance tuning kit (531 head and VX3 cam)
FK = Light pressure turbo
ET/FT = 'High' pressure turbo
FS = "high performance" version - seen on a very early B234 in a pre-facelift 740...with different injectors, ECUs, and reported to be noticably faster than a normal 16v.

It gets a whole load more random, as 360s came with B200EAs, B200EEs and B200EOs. I think those codes are to do with whether they have pulsair, EGR, or neither.

I was trying to keep it simple

cheers

James

You're asking about putting a turbo from a T5 onto a B230FT? Both a 15G from an 850 T5, or a 16T from an 850R or S/V/C70 T5 fit straight on to a 940...just need to re-locate the wastegate actuator. Having said that, some 16Ts don't fit...it depends on the type of exhaust housing they have.

Thing is...they're really not much bigger at all. They're a nice upgrade (well worth doing on an everyday car), but they're still a pretty small turbo. The T5s make more power mainly because they have a nice modern cylinder head!

Ripping the head to pieces? Not a chance.. Let it be said quietly, but the old engines are stronger than the new ones

cheers

James
