  • VOC Members: There is no login facility using your VOC membership number or the details from page 3 of the club magazine. You need to register in the normal way

Default Aux belt

Can somebody shed some light on this problem where if the aux belt fails it can throw the cambelt off as my 2012 v50 d3 has a plastic guard around the crank and cant see how it would interfere,Also is it more common for the belt to snap or the tensioner to let go as im a bit paranoid from the posts about it.thank you.

You will be pleased to hear that this is not a problem on your car as long as you service it properly . It has a completely different Aux belt system to the bigger volvos .

Thanks clan thats brilliant but ive read a a couple instances on this site that got me thinking to do some kind of belt mod in case of failure.

You have a robust set up as it is , You cannot comprehend the massive forces involved when a belt breaks at speed , everything in it's path can get broken ... Including any untested un approved devices you care to pay £50 for ...
