Default PAM part numbers

Hi Folks,

I've got the dreaded Park Assist Service Required message on my 2009 XC90.

On investigation, I found the module had dropped off of its velcro mount and had gotten a bit wet while lying on the floor of the well.

It has been dried out, terminals cleaned etc, but there is wee bit of rust showing on the circuit board so there's a good chance it's dead.

Looking around, there are plenty used modules available but every model year seems to have different part numbers. Are they interchangeable? Would a module from a different volvo model do the job?

If it isn't dead, and the message hasn't cleared, should the system still work or does the presence of the fault code disable it?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure about the parts numbers but the system tests itself each time you select Reverse. If it finds a fault it stops working. So no it won't work.

Read the codes with VIDA. It will tell you what the fault is. It may not be the module at all.

Hi Greg,
Thanks for taking the time to reply. The beast is going into my Volvo indie next Friday for a check. Unfortunately I don't have access to a Vida system or would happily do it myself.
