Default 142 Trim

I have just acquired a fairly well stripped 142 to build as a historic road rally car, and it is lacking in a few trim parts. I need:

A pair of inner door trims and inner rear quarter trims. Condition unimportant as I can repair/recolour etc as required, but I currently have nothing at all.

A pair of outer rubbing strips for the doors, and a pair for the rear wings. I have have a full set on a 144 in good nick, but don't really want to chop them about to fit a 142 as someone else may need them. Being a rally car I can get away without any at all, but they do look nice!

A LHD dash top/shell for a late 140. I want to make a double bubble dash like works Escorts had, and I reckon with a LHD dash and my RHD dash I can make something up.

Any leads gratefully received!

Thanks

Bob

Thanks for spotting them, but they are for a four door - I need the 2 door ones.

If interested I have a pair of the 2-door car side windows. I bought them as spares for my 142S which I sold a couple of years ago, and the buyer didn't want any spares I had for the car. The spare doors went to a good home last year.....

Do you mean the door glass or the rear side windows?

No - the door glass went with the doors: I mean the side windows - those that fit the body behind the doors; they hinge off the B-posts.

If interested I'll take a pic of the catches, as I believe there are differences. As I can't post on here let me have your email address, where we can talk value too.

All of the side trim is available from CVI so maybe Simon at Brookhouse can get them too.

http://www.cvi-automotive.se/en/arti...trim-mouldings

These trims have historically always been available from a main dealer but that may have changed recently. Using the part numbers on the CVI site, try the dealer and see if it come up on the computer. Get a price before ordering if they can get them. If you can get them from a dealer you won't have problems with the carriage of these long items. They don't travel well!

Derek - just as a side note - I've noticed CVI have a greater stock generally (even boot lids!!!) but I'm always unsure whether to cite them when speaking to Simon - is he happy to act at UK agent as it were??? he's so good that I don't want to upset him!!!

Triple-S, I'll pm you my email - thanks. My car has fixed side windows with a black rubber trim. I'm not sure I could live with that when the front doors have a bright surround...

Being new to 140 series cars, I have only ever bought from Simon or Rob & Emma for my Amazons. I hadn't heard of CVI until now (!) so will peruse their site with interest - thanks for the tip. I will admit that the car is a country mile away from needing new trim, internal or external.

Simon doesn't get much time to expand the website to cover all he has or can get. He gets stock from where he can but obviously low turnover stuff is money on the shelf so it may have to be ordered in from someone. Always ask him. CVI do have a lot of stock and do get parts made. Some parts are cheaper than Simon some are more expensive but you have to factor in the postage. Scandcar and Nordicar in Holland both worth checking. Both sites can be switched to English which helps a lot.
