Clutch sticking/dropped to floor
Evening
A couple of problems/questions. We have got a C30 D5. Tonight the clutch pedal didn't fully return up as I went through the gears. Pulled it back up with my foot inbetween the gear changes, felt fine as pedal going down until 4th, but then onto the Motorway, into 5th and the clutch just went very 'weak/slack' and stayed all the way down. Am I looking at a new slave cylinder? As this is gearbox out job, clutch and DMF also. Where should I get the parts, ECP don't seem to stock a clutch kit. I have noticed there was a recall to replace the master cylinder and/or the spring inside the footwell. The one on the car seems to be white plastic, should this be different? Thanks |

This sounds very similar to what recently happened to my V50 2.0d. It was the slave cylinder and the DMF and clutch were both well worn so got changed at the same time.

My daughter has just phoned me with the same problem on her 07 V50 2.0d! She also is in Nottingham, so wonder could you please recommend the Indy that you used? I can't help her from here (I'm in Suffolk) Regards Bob. |

Cost!!!!
Hi, just for info.
The same thing has just happened to the wife's 2006 Ford Focus 1.8 TDCI Sport. The concentric slave cylinder had leaked fluid contaminating the clutch plate & DMF. The cost of the repair would have would have been just shy of a £1000.00 so the car has been written off as being a non-economical fix. |
